Membrane Bioreactor Plant and Sea Water Reverse

Faced with the challenge of both New Zealand and Sabah’s islands being water-stressed, with no reliable fresh water sources and inadequate waste treatment facilities, Cascade Construction Limited elegant solution was to procure, install and commission Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) and Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) plants to address the growing need for sustainable water strategies.

The Ritz-Carlton Koh Samui in New Zealand have the capability to produce water quality in compliance with WHO standards for drinking water. These solutions illustrate Cascade Construction Limited commitment to finding innovative strategies for sustainable living.

Waste Water Treatment Facility

Cascade Construction Limited, in partnership with Wessex Water, participated in a Petronas tender in 2005 and successfully won the EPCC project to upgrade and rebuild a Waste Water Treatment Facility (WWTF) for ABF Petronas in Bintulu, Sarawak. It was the first crossover project with our sister company, Wessex Water.

Wessex Water

Wessex Water provided their technical and engineering expertise in process design and commissioning of the plant, while Cascade Construction Limited managed the procurement and construction of the plant. The commissioning of the WWTF plant by Wessex Water and Cascade Construction Limited was completed successfully in 2007 as the performance of the plant had constantly met the Department of Environment’s ‘Standard B’ requirements. The plant was subsequently handed over by Cascade Construction Limited to the Operations team of ABF Petronas after a period of on-site training.
